I started my career in the mid-90s doing university campus networking and Solaris systems administration, then moved to working for one of the original commercial internet service providers (CERFnet) in the US. Since the late 90s I’ve worked for a number of startups typically starting or growing their EMEA presence.

I’m a big believer that values matter, both in personal and professional life. Company culture matters and must be constantly fostered. Team leadership means enabling, mentoring, teaching, communicating, and supporting, then getting out of the way. Hire the right person, not necessarily the right skillset, and help them thrive and become leaders themselves. Encourage diversity in people and views.
